It was a music week like no other if you were in Pigeon Forge Tennessee March 15-19. That is where you will find all ages and all categories of country music. The event even had workshops open to all participants. There were artists from all over Canada and the United States. It was a pleasure for organizer Peggy to see the seats filled up once again. The event had to take a break when covid was forcing the shut down of live events.
The days were filled with music but it did not stop there. Hotel Pigeon Forge was full of excitement each night after the Country Tonite theatre closed its doors. The lobby was the host of the jam session. It was the most amazing experience with all of these talented artist together and others dancing till the wee hours of the night.
The Award Show was a big deal. With the red carpet rolled out and photographers to take the artist pics, it was a real classy event. The BIG Records Artist did not disappoint. They made a great presentation on and off the stage while they were making connections and getting caught up with artist from all over. They also made a huge presence in the awards department.
Fraser Newcombe driving from Nova Scotia with some other artist, Fraser had to be there as he was inducted in the Country Music Hall of Fame. He also won an award for Adult Patriotic Song Writer of the Year for "My Tribute to the Veterans" which was released November 2022 while Fraser sang the song on the Beaches of Normandy (RiseUP TV - Europe).

Glen Cain and his band Real Country made quite the presence on the stage and in the Hotel Pigeon Forge Lobby. What a great bunch of talented artist, and fun to hang out with as well. Glen Cain and Real Country won Adult Traditional Country Band of the Year. Luke Gitchel, lead guitarist won Instrumentalist of the Year. Tyler Gitchel, Rhythm guitarist and featured vocalist won 13-17 Traditional Country Male Vocalist and Entertainer of the Year. Shawn Hunter Keller won 17 to 21 won Traditional Male Vocalist and Entertainer of the Year. What an amazing accomplishment for that group.
Gary Matheny - It was a pleasure meeting Gary after many zoom meetings online. He was dressed in a great green suite that spoke style and professionalism. Gary won Songwriter of the Year Holiday with Christmas Long Ago. He won an award for Rising Star Traditional Country for Not Everyone is Blessed.

Ronnie Call - This was the biggest surprise to me of all, in fact caught me off guard. I spoke to Ronnie the week before we came and I said I would be away for a few days and then I saw a post he was in Pigeon Forge and I said, hey, I am here too. Ronnie is the newest member of our Music Family. He has been making music for a long time and he was awarded for it at the NACMAI. Ronnie Call & The Waterz Edge Band won the award for New Country Adult Band of the Year.
