Glen Cain was born in West Virginia and grew up on a large cattle farm. Influenced early in life by an uncle who played guitar with Red Sovine, Jimmy Dickens, Hawkshaw Hawkins, he developed a love for Country Music. Cain is currently signed with Big Records Label out of British Columbia.
While attending West Virginia University, on a football scholarship, Cain became the Vocalist for a Country cover band. After graduating college, and serving time as a Green Beret Officer in the U.S. Army, Cain formed a band, and began playing Country Music that led him to become a regular on the Mountaineer Opry, and a semi-regular on the WWVA WHEELING JAMBOREE.
He opened shows for legendary Country Music singers Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Ferlin Husky, Faron Young to name a few, which led him to meet Conway Twitty and had the joy of sharing the road with him for 3 years.
After a longwinded hiatus due to the ever changing industry and life choices, Paula Carlene Nelson, the daughter of Singer/Songwriter, Actor and Activist Willie Nelson and Connie Koepke, heard his name mentioned in the back room of the radio station in 2018 where she hosted a show that Cain had randomly called into. This led to her calling him back and inspiring him to return to the industry. Nelson hooked up Cain in the Austin, Texas recording studios of Matt Hubbard, grandson-in-law of Willie Nelson, and multi-award winning producer, Stuart Sullivan, who mixed and mastered the project. No sooner after they recorded and launched his 5 song EP off his Silverado Red Truck, in a Michigan blizzard, sporting his signature Stetson hat, his songs charted in New Music Weekly. In September of 2019, Cain landed on the top charts out of Holland, ranking him the 11th most popular Country Music Artist in Europe.
Glen has been awarded the 2022 Male Vocalist and the Rising Star Entertainer of the Year under the North American Country Music Association (NACMAI), for his songs 'Born to Ramble' and 'Hold Back The Dawn'. 'You Don't Give A Damn', that was written by David McNair of Austin, Texas, and performed by Cain on his EP, took NACMAI song of the year.
Cain has recently been nominated as an inductee in the West Virginia Music Hall of Fame.
