Bernice Marsala is an award-winning singer/songwriter and classically trained guitarist. She studied music and audio production in college and graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelor’s in Music Business. She is originally from Sycamore, IL and now resides in the Nashville, TN area with her husband and daughter. Her vast catalog of infectious melodies and intricate lyricism have led to various nominations, press, and airplay on numerous radio stations. She was awarded Female Songwriter of the Year (Bronze) at the 2023 ISSA Awards, and her last single, "Lights Out," won Best Pop Song in the World Songwriting Awards.
“This Is Me Walkin' Out” is about dealing with the immediate hurt and anger after being wronged by someone. You want to move on right away and wish them the best, but you realize that you're not in that headspace yet. This song is about understanding that inner conflict.
Bernice`s song was to make the cut for her 2023 "Burgundy" album, but it didn't make the necessary deadline. Like all relationships, it takes time to make it right.
This was a song meant to be on my 2023 album, but it wasn't finished in time. In total it's been about a two-year recording project, so it's very exciting to finally see it get released!
Bernice intends to keep making more music and, in time, be heard on international internet and FM radio stations. Songwriting has always been kind of therapeutic for her, wanting her songs to connect with listeners and inspiring them to also follow their own dreams.
It's been really special for me to be living this lifelong dream of putting my music out into the world. I knew a long time ago that this is what I was meant to do, so I'm just trying to relish in the present. I would like to thank Big Records, the JETSet Music Media team, my good friend, Evon J. Sams, for playing saxophone on this track, and producer, Charles Connolly, for helping me finally finish the darn thing!
