The Mighty One’s latest single “When This Is Over” is an anthem of hope.

The Mighty One launches their new single and visualizer video for “When This Is Over” still riding the ongoing success of Kickin’ Stones

The Mighty One releases 'When This Is Over', an anthem of hope for dark days

After the release of the single 'Kickin' Stones' and having a great reception in the media in more than 40 countries around the world where The Mighty One sent a message of preserving life through a rock ballad, and achieving optimal positioning on social networks and digital platforms, the project led by Tim Steinruck is ready for a new step in its independent and self-managed musical career.

"The launch of 'Kickin' Stones' was an epic project and took months to put together. Finding a warehouse that didn't cost thousands of dollars was the biggest challenge. I eventually found a local company that matched my intentions of creating a video that would serve as a catalyst to encourage conversations about mental health and suicide prevention. The two owners of Burnaby Blacktop have both had substance and addiction challenges and have since started a recovery house for men, so they were very motivated to support my vision. After that everything fell into place very quickly. 250,000 digital streams and almost 100,000 YouTube views is a huge boost for an independent artist," says Tim.

'When This Is Over' is the new song from The Mighty One, a song included in the album 'Torch Of Rock And Roll' that presents a vision of what life would be like when all the fear of what happened in the pandemic had passed. It is an anthem of hope for the darkest of times.

The song speaks of the force that comes to challenge us and test our will to survive. Overcoming fear is the greatest victory we can have in our life. Fear steals our joy. In many ways, it is the most powerful and rampant disease we face in today's world. Hope, and knowing that one day it will all end, is the cure. Hope and visualizing a bright future are the keys to overcoming a dark present.

'When This Is Over' is a sonically triumphant, march-to-battle type of track. One of the unique musical characteristics of this song is the swirling, "bubbling" and syncopated bass line. It is driven by the chorus and brings that galloping feeling you get in songs like Iron Maiden's 'Run To The Hills'. Another important feature is the three-part vocal harmonies in the chorus, which give a lot of prominence to the theme of hope. In the bridge of the song, the listener is encouraged to get up and fight, followed by an indigenous chant that brings strength, courage and the blessing of the spirit for the battle ahead. "The song was inspired by the need to believe that one day the darkness of the pandemic would end. On that day we will celebrate life and a bright future. I think right now that's more important than ever. Now I say, 'It's always darkest just before the dawn,'" Steinruck adds.

'When This Is Over' is directed at people who are struggling daily with life, those who don't see a way forward and have lost hope. It's an invitation to close your eyes and visualize the life you really want, if you achieve this goal over time it will come true.

The visualizer for the song was made by artist David D who asked Tim for five keywords to describe the song which were: cosmos, wizard, fire, guitar and electric.

According to Tim Steinruck, "This release will be able to help the audience experience a powerful facet of our songwriting and production approach. It is my intention that this song continues to build on the momentum that was created with 'Kickin' Stones' by presenting a different side of the band's music. It's perfect to listen to whenever you feel like you've lost hope and can't move on, that you need to remind yourself that what you're living through is temporary. This dark night will end and the sun will rise again. Don't give up. Don't let fear get the better of you."

The cover of the single is a combination of the 'Kickin' Stones' video photoshoot and the band's logo which is a flame. It signifies the new fire that has been burning since the successful release of 'Kickin' Stones'. In many ways, it's a celebration and a culmination of the success of the Torch Of Rock And Roll album.
