Tim “The Mighty One” Steinruck appears LIVE on Colombian international radio with Ska/Punk band “La Kandado”

Listen to this radio interview on Colombian’s Radio Amiga! https://www.radioamigainternacional.com/explosion-de-punk-rock-y-hard-rock-los-peyes-y-the-mighty-one/

In a recent broadcast of 'La Vitrola', we had the pleasure of interviewing two prominent bands on the music scene: 'Los Peyes', a Punk-Rock and Ska-Punk group from Bogotá, and 'The Mighty One', a band hard rock band from Vancouver, Canada.

The Peyes

'Los Peyes' is a group from Bogotá that was born in 2009, formed by three former members of El Kandado! (2007-2009). Since its inception, the band has stood out for its energy and social commitment. In December 2010, they were directly invited to open for a Spanish band, and in 2012 they won an online vote to play with the Californian band The Adolescents. That same year, they released their album with 17 original songs, some from the time of El Kandado!.

In 2013, his song was included in the international Punk compilation 'Golpeando Desde Abajo IV' and began playing on the radio station Radionica. They also recorded the single with five original songs. After a two-year break, in 2016, two of the founding members got new reinforcements to continue with 'Los Peyes', composing new songs and returning to the stage stronger.

In this new chapter, 'Los Peyes' continued to support social and humanitarian causes, playing in bars, parks and universities in different places in Colombia, always with a great reception from the public. In 2017, they were invited to open the concert in Bogotá for the legendary Spanish band, and in 2018, they did the same for another Spanish band also in the Colombian capital. In 2019, they released their six-song album, where they demonstrated their commitment to the sounds of Ska-Punk without abandoning the Punk Rock that has characterized them in their ten years of history.

The Mighty One

'The Mighty One' is a hard rock band from Vancouver, Canada, made up of Tim Steinruck (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Bob Wagner (drums), Chris Campbell (bass), Randy Robertson (lead guitar) and James Meyer (keyboards). The music of 'The Mighty One' aims to transform the listener, allowing them to see the world and themselves differently through its sounds.

Their style, driven by seven-string guitars, has its roots in Van Halen, Faith No More, Audioslave and Foo Fighters classics from the '80s, '90s and early 2000s. The songs on 'The Mighty One' convey messages of social and emotional awareness, spirituality and inspiration, narrating the life polarized between light and darkness of its vocalist, Tim.

During the interview at 'La Vitrola', both bands shared their trajectories, influences and the meaning behind their songs, offering a deep insight into their music and their messages. 'Los Peyes' highlighted their evolution and commitment to social causes, while 'The Mighty One' emphasized their mission to inspire and transform through their powerful hard rock. It was an enriching conversation that left listeners with a renewed appreciation for the power of music to connect and transform.
